Voyages of East India Company Ships

In this section of the site you will eventually be able to find details of all the voyages of the ships of the EIC Maritime Service from 1600 to 1834. It is planned that this will be searchable in many different ways.

The data is being entered into a database, and for technical reasons has to be done in a particular sequence, and has to be completed before it can be output here.

So it's not ready yet, but in the meantime...

Eventful Voyages

The voyages out and back to the east were long and difficult. Given the hazards of the time, it is amazing that there were so many successful voyages.

However, many of the ships had eventful voyages, and some were lost.

Below you can find lists of those vessels which either did not arrive at their destination and were recorded as missing, or were lost by wreck, fire, or capture.
